The Electric prod is a Melee Weapon item which can be bought from Nitro Express. This weapon was added in Game Version v1.21.4 alongside the Scythe.

Description

The Electric prod is held in a pony's mouth using the orange arch-like handle, the striking part of the weapon is comprised of a thick dark gray pole with a gray wire that coils around it. At the base of the handle are a set of purple pixels potentially suggesting the power source of the weapon. When held in a pony's mouth it will produce a very small light blue glow and have an animated blue pixel travel across the wire in a concentric pattern from left to right displaying the electric current that surges across the weapon.

Trivia

• The Electric Prod is likely a reference to the "Farmer's Best Friend" Cattle prod as found in Fallout 1, 2, 76, and Fallout: New Vegas.
  • While the design of the Ashes Town Electric prod is not entirely identical to that of the "Farmer's Best Friend" Cattle prod, all other instances of Cattle prods used Fallout Games are significantly more dissimilar.
• The Electric prod outputs the lowest amount of damage out of any purchasable melee weapons, this is likely due to the fact that the electric prod is diegetically designed to stun and induce shocks in a target, not actually damage.
• The Electric prod produces the smallest light source in the game.
• The Ripper is one of five items which has an animated Sprite, the others include the Ripper, the Lantern, and both variants of the Flare item when consumed.
