Flare
The Flare is a series of two Interactable items occasionally sold by Copper Caps. It can be found in two different forms which share an identical name, design and price, but different design. It is unknown when flares were added, but the changelogs suggest it existed before update v1.10.0.
Description
A Flare is a Pyrotechnic stick used to aluminate an area and signal something by both civilian and military members. The two variants of the Flare in Ashes Town hold the same base model of a maroon stick with a gray cap on the right end. The second variant of flare covered in brown pixels simulating an additional layer of dirtiness.
Consumption
When interacted with (Either by using E; clicking the "Use item / Interact" or "Consume" Action button; or typing /consume, both Flares will change in state to an item titled "Flare (burning)" which provides a red aura when held by the player. Once transformed into "Flare (burning)" it can not be sold back to Copper caps.
Trivia
- The 'Flare' Item, has appeared previously in multiple Fallout games: In Fallout 1, 2, Tactics, and Fallout 76 (Wastelanders)
- However, the design is reminiscent of the world icon found in Fallout 1 and 2, due to both having a grey right end.
- These two items are one of the five items which have an animated sprite when held in you ponies mouth. The other items include the Electric prod, Ripper and the Lantern.
