Ping-Pong is a Vendor NPC located in the Caves in a Hollowed out Vending Machine, she is responsible for selling the player all the available Toys. She was introduced in v1.19.0.

Description

Ping-Pong is an Earth Pony Mare with a light pink coat, lavender mane, and Sky Blue eyes. Although obscured when hiding in her Vending Machine, in promotional images adjoining update v1.21.8 and v1.22.0, she can be seen wearing a purple and yellow hooded jacket; a purple, yellow and pink skirt; and a purple pink and yellow spiked helmets with related antennas. In the promotional .gif for update v1.22.0, she also had the Radroach toy on her head.

Wears

Ping-Pong will offer all of the Toys, at a range of prices, once a toy has been purchased you have gained access to it permanently on that account.

Historically, in seasonal updates such as Nightmare Night and Hearth's Warming, she would offer discounts and sell the toys will be at a reduced price.

Quotes

Ping-Pong possesses a number of speaking lines. She will pick a random pattern of sequential lines, afterwards she will pause for a period of time before randomly selecting another set of sequential lines. Seasonal lines can be spoken while a seasonal event is present (For example, Lines spoken during winter will also be said during the Hearth's Warming Eve event).

Trivia

• The third line speaking of an unreachable cap makes reference to a place in the Wasteland map, specifically located in the Mountain Town where caps can spawn and remain unreachable from players due to it's location in proximity to both visible and invisible walls.
• Her quotes make reference to two major characters in the My little pony cannon who also made appearance in the Fallout Equestria world.
  • Ping Pong's line "Once I had a dream about a pink pony with a puffy mane." references the character Pinkie Pie, who is known in both the My Little Pony and Fallout Equestria cannon to possesses knowledge and skills not of their universe, in this instance the command /toy <number> used to summon toys.
  • Ping Pong's line "I had a dream about a dragonequus today." references the character Discord, a spirit of Chaos who appears in My Little Pony, and has brief mentions in a late chapter of Fallout Equestria. His inclusion specifically in Ashes Town is to give a reason for the sudden change in the Stable's design in Update v1.22.0.
• Developer and Artist Ramennoodles posted a sketch in the #ashes-town channel which provided some insight into a biography of Ping-Pong. When questioned on the matter, they revealed that these facts were cannon to the character but not presentable in game. The following information is stated:
  • Ping Pong is a Wasteland Born pony, who has had previous employment as a Trader, Cook, Medic, and also as a wasteland traveler.
  • She his considered friendly with a vast number of factions and races, including such ones which would be normally hostile to a generic Wastelander, such as Raiders, Hellhounds, Grand Pegasus Enclave or Steel Rangers.
  • Her SPECIAL stats, while physically weak is very charismatic, smart and lucky. The high Charisma may be an indication to how they are friendly with so many groups. Her Tagged skills are Speech, Barter and Outdoorsman (renamed to 'Outdoorsmare'), with focused non-tagged skills Sneak, Lockpick, and First Aid.
